Optical Surface and Grating Replication
OPCO provides a proprietary Optical Replication process for transferring a precision optical surface to another substrate (usually of lower cost) thereby producing quantities of exact duplicates less expensively while maintaining the optical quality of the original.
Although initially developed to copy interferometrically ruled gratings, replication is now extensively used to copy a variety of optical surfaces. OPCO's unique proprietory process combined with the replication process successfully reproduces a wide variety of optical surfaces onto various metals and other optical substrates.
Optical designs have always been optimized by incorporating aspheric reflection optics in the system, however, their usage had been conservative due to the cost of producing such optics in quantity, especially when high performance tolerances come into play. The Replication Process makes quantity high performance aspherics economical.
Optical surface accuracies of Lambda/10 and surface quality of 20-10 are easily achieved.

Advantages
Coatings
Replicated toroidal mirrors offer a significant advantage over spherical concave mirrors by correcting astigmatism and increasing energy throughput, especially where array detection is employed.
Replicated toroidal mirrors are half the cost of conventional toroidal mirrors and inherently have greater repeatability in surface accuracy, surface quality, and radii.
